Elijah Thomas gets MVP of the Week award for West Asia Super League

American Elijah Thomas (210-F-1996) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Al Ittihad Jeddah and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Kazma (#4, 1-4) 86-84. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Al Ittihad to consolidate first place in the West Asia Super League. Al Ittihad have a solid 4-1 record. Thomas turned to be Al Ittihad's top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Serbian power forward Strahinja Micovic (204-PF-1992) of Kazma. Micovic impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Kazma was edged by the higher-ranked Al Ittihad (#1, 4-1) 86-84. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kazma still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Kazma managed to get this year. Micovic is a newcomer at Kazma and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Al Ittihad's star - American Erick Neal (178-PG-1995). Neal showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 9 rebounds and 14 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Al Ittihad Jeddah, helping his team with a 86-84 win against #4 ranked Kazma. Al Ittihad confirms their top position in the standings. Neal has a great season in West Asia Super League. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 13.2apg (best passer). Neal attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
